Hi guys,

So it’s that time of the month again where we all search through all our things and find our favourites for the month! This month has been more difficult than usual as I have bought so much stuff and was given a lot of new things for my birthday – I have managed to narrow it down to a few which I will go through below.

John Lewis Haul

IMG_1366.JPG

Hey Peeps,

So last week I went on a birthday shopping trip/lunch in Liverpool 1. Had a wonderful day and spent a fortune haha!

The majority of my shopping was done at the various make up counters in John Lewis. Such a lethal way of shopping when the bill is broken down like that 😳 anyway, onto the purchases:

The first counter I made my way towards was the Guerlain counter, I could literally have stayed there all day sampling all the products. I was in my element.

October Favourites πŸ’„πŸ’„

Hi Guys,

Since it’s now gone freezing cold and I’ve settled in for winter I thought I would go through all my gear and put together my October favourites πŸ™‚

No real introductions needed for this blog so let’s just dive straight in…..

First up is the UD De Slick Setting Spray, I didn’t realise how much I love this product until I recently ran out. I was totally gutted so went straight online and ordered another bottle. Slightly different one this time. I also bought a hell of a lot of other stuff but will save that for my next blog.

I love this product, makes my make up stay in place all day and leaves my face feeling fresh. Some similar products are like having sticky hair spray smeared all over your face, this isn’t! It’s not even noticeable and at only Β£9 a bottle is a beauty must have!!

IMG_0937.JPG

Next up is the EstΓ©e Lauder double wear foundation. I love this foundation, it’s really buildable but very wearable. It really does last a long time and isn’t cakey at all. It is a high end foundation so does have a high end price tag but SO worth it in my opinion.

I recently wore this for a night out and it was still in place when I got home at 6:30 am so it really is double wear πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

IMG_0938.JPG

Onto the lips now and I’ve really been loving the Max Factor lipgloss I have in the shade Lustrous Sand. It’s such a natural pinky colour and isn’t sticky at all. I cannot stand lipglosses that leave you with sticky slop all over your mouth, that is a big no no for someone with long hair!! This isn’t like that at all, it’s really soft and smells nice too which is always an advantage when it’s so close to your nose!!

IMG_0940.JPG

IMG_0939.JPG

Staying with lips, I have chosen one lipstick for this month which is the Maybelline Colour Whisper in the shade Petal Rebel. This is quite a bright pink but not over the top. I wear this alone as I adore the colour but it could also be worn under lipgloss. There is quite a large range of colours in this lipstick but I ordered mine online so not sure where stocks it. I tend to rub my lips together a lot too so re apply quite often. One thing I will say is not to layer this too much as the colour builds with each sweep and can look quite pink 😳 if you like that look then go for it.

IMG_0950.JPG

IMG_0949.JPG

IMG_0948.JPG

Staying with all things pink (funny colour for October I know) I’ve chosen my Barry M Nail Polish in the colour Limited Edition A – such a gorgeous bright pink colour, which is quite good at resisting chips. This is a god send for me as I am a nightmare when it comes to chipping my nails 😦

IMG_0946.JPG

IMG_0945.JPG

Onto a hair product I have been loving now which is the Toni & Guy Salt Spray, now I don’t curl my hair very often but when I am too lazy to dry it and straighten it I will often towel dry it, spray this over the length and ends and scrunch scrunch scrunch!! It leaves you with lovely beach waves and smells FANTASTIC!! I picked this up from Boots for about Β£1.99 as I picked the small travel size to try it out first – it’s plenty big enough though πŸ™‚

IMG_0944.JPG

Last 2 products for October are both skin care, first up is the Elemis Pro Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm. I am obsessed with this product, I use it all the time. It leaves my skin soft and glowing, it doesn’t dry it out at all and I highly recommend it. I’m not overly keen on the smell or the price tag but I find it hard to find decent facial products so will accept the smell and price for the end result! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

IMG_0943.JPG

Final product for this month is a bit of a wild card that I picked up from Amazon. It’s called Slim Extreme 3D Fat Burner. Now I know the name sounds mental but I love this product. When applied to the areas of choice (bum and legs for me) it burns like hell! I don’t have too much cellulite but really like how my skin feels after using this.

It cost me about Β£10.00 but the reviews speak for themselves – obviously it’s not going to work miracles but can be incorporated into a regime should you choose.

I tend to use a body brush on my bum and then smother this cream all over the area, then just leave it. It gets really warm but soon cools down. If the idea of having a hot product on your skin puts you off then this product isn’t for you.

IMG_0942.JPG

Well that’s all for October guys, I shall no doubt have loads of products for November as I have purchased an awful lot this last week 😊😊

Thanks for reading xxx

Halloween Fun πŸŽƒπŸ‘»

IMG_0609.JPG

Well it’s getting to that time of year again where we all dress up in silly costumes and knock on people’s doors in the hope they will appreciate our efforts and reward us with sweets or chocolate!!

If you are anything like me then you will agree that no outfit is complete without amazing nails, this is just fact – pure and simple!!

Anyway I decided that since the dreaded Halloween is nearly amongst us I would have a play about with some designs.

I settled on the one pictured above as I think it is simple but affective and soooo easy to do.

If I had orange nail polish then I would have tried pumpkin faces as that would be super cute but figured the red and black would match more outfits.

So there we go I am halfway sorted just need a costume now!

Let me know if you have any funky Halloween designs – I would love to try them xxx

Beat the blues – winter remedies xx

IMG_0589.JPG

It’s getting to that time of year again where the dark nights are drawing in, it’s getting colder and a lot of people are generally feeling miserable. With Christmas fast approaching I have been looking for cost effective ways to lift our spirits, brighten our moods and make our skin glow.

One word FRUIT – there are so many fruits out there that can work wonders for our skin. They are readily available all year round and the most cost effective beauty products of all.

Below are a few tips and methods for bright, moisturised skin over the winter and festive period – ENJOY!

1. Pre-shave conditioning scrub.

This is a great scrub to apply to your legs before shaving. It’s helps to soften the hairs and remove dead skin cells which will help achieve a closer smoother shave.

You will need:

A cup of hair conditioner of your choice and a few spoonfuls of sugar. The amount of sugar you mix with the conditioner is personal preference as to what level of exfoliation you want. Mix them both together, scoop out a handful and smother it all over your legs. Rinse with warm water and then get the razor out. This can also be used as a body scrub.

2. Banana Face Mask

Bananas are rich in Vitamin A, B & E so they work well for anti ageing. Take a banana, mash it, either using a fork or a blender then apply it to your face (avoiding the eyes) leave for 15-20 mins and rinse off with warm water.

3. Orange Face Brightener/Scrub

Oranges are rich in Vitamin C which is great for brightening skin. They also contain collagen which is great for slowing down the ageing process.

Take an orange and cut it in half, remove any pips. Take one half of the orange and gently rub it all over your face (avoiding eye area) leave for a few mins and then rinse with warm water.

To do this as a scrub simply dip one half of the orange into some sugar and then gently rub over your face (avoiding eye area) leave for a few moments and rinse off.

4. Honey Mask

Ok I know this isn’t a fruit but honey is a great beauty product, it has so many different uses but my favourite is the honey mask.

Honey is 100% natural, it is antibacterial and full of antioxidants.

Make sure your hair is totally off your face for this one!

Simply take a bowl of honey and scoop out a handful, smear it all over your face and leave for about 15 mins. Rinse with warm water and your done!!

Honey is also a great moisturiser!

5. Lip Scrub

Nobody likes chapped lips. They hurt and they look awful, especially when your favourite lipstick ends up cracked and yucky! This lip scrub will remove all the dead flaky skin and help to get those lips feeling soft again.

Take a small bowl and a tea spoon. Put a few tea spoons of sugar into the bowl. Next take some honey and mix with the sugar until you get a thick mixture. You can also use Olive oil for this as it is less sticky. Once you have mixed up the ingredients you can add an optional food flavouring. I often put a couple of drops of mint flavouring in mine as it gives that cool menthol flavouring.

When you have a nice thick mixture in the bowl, take your finger, dip it in and rub it over your lips.

As the ingredients are natural you can just leave this product on your lips or even lick it off 😳 tastes yummy!! Apply as and when required for smooth, soft lips 😘

I hope you guys will give some of these a try and that they help make winter that bit more bearable xxx

Superdrug Haul!

IMG_0558-0.JPG

I am seriously beginning to think I have a major shopping addiction! Only popped into town for some coffee and happened to end up in Superdrug with a basket in my hand!!

Anyway I have been spending again – bank manager must love me……..

IMG_0559-0.JPG

As you can see I have purchased a few more MUA products. First up is the Bronzed Perfection – I am not a great fan of cheap bronzers but since I love MUA at the moment I thought I would try it and at Β£3.00 I thought it was a bargain! It’s also huge so will last for ages.

IMG_0567-0.JPG

Next is a single eyeshadow from MUA in the colour fudge. This is a matte eyeshadow so intend to use it as a base colour to prevent creasing. Β£1.00 for this eyeshadow!! Total bargain. Decent range of colours to choose from too.

IMG_0568.JPG

In my September favourites I mentioned I had bought a nail varnish from MUA which I have been loving. I have just bought another one (Β£1) in the colour Leapfrog so will be trying this out later.

Last items from MUA I have decided to try are 2 lipsticks, they are matte lipsticks and were Β£1 each. I only picked up 2 colours from the range to try out before buying them all haha! Colours are Totally Nude and Peachy Keen.

IMG_0571.JPG

IMG_0570.JPG

Next items that caught my eye were the Barry M Powder Brush (Β£5.99), Superdrug Blending Brush (Β£1.99) and the Superdrug Facial Cleansing Buffer (Β£1.49)

IMG_0565.JPG

IMG_0566.JPG

I do have a skin care routine in place BUT for the left over mascara each morning and to freshen my face I have been loving the Simple Cleansing Wipes, lazy I know but hey who cares!! Today I bought the Oil Balancing Wipes as I have quite an oily T-Zone so am hoping these will help. They were also on offer for Β£1.99 so had to have them.

IMG_0562.JPG

I love my baths, I do like a shower as well but find nothing more relaxing than soaking in a hot bubble bath. I really am loving Radox at the moment as the bubbles are amazing. I use the Nourish Bath Soak as it smells Devine! This is on offer at the moment for 96p so it obviously ended up in the basket.

IMG_0561.JPG

Onto hair products, the first items that I picked up were Charles Worthington Salon at Home Colour Shield Spray (1.99) I have never tried this product but adore the Charles Worthington Moisture Seal so thought I would give this a try. I also picked up the Schwarzkopf Diamond Color Shine Boost Spray (Β£2.99) again I have never used this but love trying new products so will be sure to let you know what they are like.

IMG_0564.JPG

IMG_0563.JPG

And lastly, is the Nice n Easy hairdye in SB2 Natural Light Cool Blonde. I have been using this for ages and love it. It’s on offer at the moment “buy one get one half price” which is great for me as I use 2 at a time anyway so good bargain. I love this colour and it really reflects the light which I love. I quite often get asked who does my hair and people are shocked when I say it’s out of the bottle. I know people have mixed opinions on dying your hair yourself etc but I’ve been dying mine for 14 years and it’s never fallen out so I think I’ll stick to the cheaper option 😊

IMG_0560.JPG

Right, since I’ve bought all these goodies I am off for a nice relaxing bath now followed by a pamper session!!

Enjoy the rest of your day xxx

Neon Candy Colour Compact

IMG_0455.JPGIMG_0453.JPG

IMG_0456.JPG

IMG_0454.JPG

Hey everyone,

This won’t be a long blog as I have only recently purchased this colour compact – I will perhaps add it to my October favourites (if it’s any good) πŸ˜‰

I didn’t plan on buying this compact/palette but it was available on 3 for 2 at Very, I had 2 items in my basket and needed a third to complete the offer so thought meh why not?!

Anyway onto the compact:

I love the colour of this compact. It’s such a pretty neon pink. The case is quite soft and spongy so would be ideal to pop into your handbag for touch ups. It’s only about an inch think as well so isn’t too bulky.

The compact opens like a book, on one side is a mirror and 40, that’s right, 40 eyeshadows!!! Wow!

The colours are varied, lots of cool neutral shades and plenty of warmer shades! I am not that adventurous when it comes to eyeshadow so doubt I will use all the pinks and greens but can’t wait to try the natural colours. Will try using over UD primer and see what the staying power is like vs wearing without primer.

The other side of the compact is blusher and lip colours. There are 20 different lip colours to choose from ranging from pink – red – brown. The colours are quite “in your face” so may work well under gloss depending on the type of look you prefer. I, myself, prefer a more natural lip with a hint of colour so will be mixing these with something rather that wearing them alone.

The blushes look really nice. All 12 of them!! They are all quite shimmery so if you prefer matte blusher/bronzer then these may not be for you. The 12 shades are all pretty natural, 2 of which may be ok for contouring depending on the tone/shade of your skin. I am also going to try some of these blushes as eyeshadow as the colours are so nice. A really nice natural look could be achieved with this compact.

You also get 2 eyeshadow applicators, 1 blusher brush and 2 lip stick applicators. Not sure on the quality of these brushes – in all honesty I probably won’t use them as I tend to stick to my favourite brushes 😊

Anyway, check out my October favourites blog in a few weeks to see if this makes the cut. I will do a full review on this and let you guys know if I would repurchase without the 3 for 2 offer. *this compact is Β£10 to buy* seems pretty reasonable to me!

My next blog will be my September favourites which I am soooooo late with!! Please check it out when you see it 😊

Thanks guys xxx
